*Water supply also snapped

POONCH, July 15: Due to heavy rain and flood in Mendhar area of district Poonch during early hours today, a culvert was washed away snapping road connectivity to three villages while water supply was also affected as main water supply pipe to the area was also washed away in flood.
Official sources said that due to heavy rain and flood during early hours today, a culvert on a Nallah on Harni – Kasyot-Harmutta Road was washed away. It snapped the road communication to at least three villages including Harmutta and Kasyot and about half a dozen hamlets.
Not only this, the main PHE water supply pipe to these village was also washed away and water supply to the area has been snapped. The people of the area are facing lot of problems due to washing away of culvert. The villagers said that few days back, some portion of the culvert was washed away because R&B authorities did not carry out any protection work before rainy season despite request by the villagers. Now, the morning flood in the Nallah washed away the remaining portion of the culvert as well snapping the road link to these villages.
