Terms Poetry as an effective stress buster
JAMMU: Poetry is an effective stress buster which transcends one into the world of imagination liberating us from routine worries and chaos, stated Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Abdul Haq.
The Minister was speaking during an All India Urdu Mushaira organised by JK Academy of Art Culture and Languages (JKAACL) as part of Republic Day celebration.
The Minister, while terming Urdu as beautiful and appealing language, said that Urdu is not just the official language of the state but it is also a vast repository of cultural heritage of Indian sub-continent.
He said the government is committed to promote the language, for which, it shall take all requisite steps.
He appreciated the role of JKAACL for organizing such events and stressed upon on holding of more such events. He assured that his department will provide every help in organizing such events in Kashmir. He lauded the role of Academy for providing a platform to the younger generation to exhibit their talent.
Secretary JKAACL Dr Aziz Hajni, assured that the Academy would further organise such events to provide opportunity to poets of the state to earn name in the literary world.
Apart from local poets of all hues, eminent poets from various other parts of the country participated in the event and enthralled the audience with their verses.
The All India Urdu Mushaira was presided over by poet-broadcaster, Farooq Nazki.
The participating poets included Pritpal Singh Betab, Vidya Ratan, Ather Bashir, Khurshid Bismil, Khalid Karar, Sajad Panchi, Parvez Manoos, Sultanul haque, Nighat Sahiba, Zulfikar Naqvi, Nasir-ud-din Khafi and Umer Farhat, Zahid Mukhtar,
The main attraction of the Mushaira were poetry recitations by poets like Chander Bhan, Sardar Panchi, Zubair Ali, Dr Nuzhat Anjum, Shariq Khaifi, Madan Mohan Mishra, Razia Khan and Rashmi Saba who had come from Delhi, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh.
