UDHAMPUR, Mar 3: Army divers today fished out body of the drowned youth who had jumped into Tawi river in Chenani, last evening.
The deceased, identified as Sohan Kumar (21), son of Bali Ram of village Madha in Chenani, was seen jumping into Tawi river by some locals, who had immediately brought the matter into the notice of Police Station Chenani.
Acting swiftly, a Police team led by SHO Chenani, Inspector Paramjeet Singh rushed to the spot and launched a search operation with the help of NDRF and Army divers. The dead body was fished out today and sent to the mortuary of Sub-District Hospital Chenani for the postmortem and other legal formalities.
After Postmortem, the dead body was hand over to family members of the deceased. Police has registered the case for further investigation and ascertaining the cause of provocation behind the extreme step taken by the deceased.
