JAMMU, May 11: Coromandel International Limited Bari Brahmana, part of Murugappa Group, launched the CSR activities at Jammu by taking up renovation of school premises and gardening and toilets renovation and given water coolers at schools, basis path lab testing facility in Bari Brahmana, PHC and Bus shelter near lane 4 for local public.
During the current financial year, the activities have been extended to students in form of scholarship distributed to four school of Bari Brahmana locality. These schools include Govt Higher Secondary School Smailpur, Govt High School , Badhori, Govt High School , Bari Brahmana and Govt. High School, Palli.
In this connection, a meeting was organized at Government Higher Secondary School Smailpur wherein and total 16 number of girl students of 9th and 10th class were given scholarships. These students had stood 1st and 2nd in respected 9th & 10th class. Scholarships were distributed by senior B R Sharma, Additional Secretary Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, and his wife Ruby Sharma.
Speaking on the occasion, B R Sharma appreciated the efforts of Coromandel International Limited for supporting, adopting the schools for CSR activities and affectively implementing Prime Minister’s call “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao”.
The meeting was attended by senior citizens of Bari Brahmana and senior members of BBIA.
From Coromandel International Limited, M Harishankar, Associate vice president, briefed the gathering about Murugappa group initiatives across the country and CSR policy of Coromandel International Limited.
