DIG JSK Range reviews security preparedness ahead of Assembly polls in Kathua

KATHUA, Sept 9: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Jammu-Samba-Kathua (JSK) Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma, conducted a comprehensive review of security measures in the district of Kathua today.
His visit included stops at Basantpur, Satwain, Mahanpur, Basohli, Sheetal Nagar/Bhoond, and Bani.
During his tour, DIG Sharma held a series of meetings with civil administration officials and paramilitary forces.
He emphasized the importance of their duties and assured them of full support from the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
The DIG JSK Range also had a meeting with the Brigade Commander of Bani to discuss coordinated anti-terrorism efforts. The officers addressed strategies for joint operations, cordon and search missions, and other security concerns.
The Brigade Commander assured enhanced coordination and efforts to address the terrorist threat.
At Police Post Bhoond, DIG Sharma directed the Incharge to address public grievances promptly, with a particular focus on complaints from women.
He stressed that female complaints should be managed by female staff and emphasized the need for special attention to cases involving NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances), road accidents and land disputes.
Furthermore, DIG Sharma interacted with Village Defense Committee (VDC) members, reviewed their training, and reiterated the importance of sensitivity in their roles.
He issued instructions to territorial officers to ensure robust security arrangements throughout the election campaign and urged them to maintain heightened vigilance.
