UDHAMPUR, Feb 14: Driver of an oil tanker and his helper were killed when the oil filled vehicle rolled down in deep gorge and caught fire at Domail Chenani, here today.
The Oil Tanker, bearing registration number JK02AA-6687, was on way from Jammu to Kashmir when driver lost control over the vehicle resulting into the tragic mishap. Even as Police and Fire Brigade rushed to the spot, the driver was found burnt alive. The critically injured Helper was rushed to Sub District Hospital Chenani, where doctors referred him to GMC Hospital Jammu. However, he also succumbed to his injuries at GMC Jammu.
The deceased driver was identified as Nizam Din (35) son of Mohd Bashir and Helper Mofuz Ahmid (29), son of Abdul Karim, both resident of Mendhar, Poonch.
