JAMMU, Jan 13: After picking best 20 players after holding coaching camp of 24 players, the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) sent the State team for 72nd Santosh Trophy 2017-18 scheduled to be held at Noida in Uttar Pradesh from January 15 to January 20, 2018.
J&K team is bracketed in Pool-B with Punjab, Delhi and Himachal Pradesh and will play matches on January16, 18 and 20, 2018.
Akif Javed Reshi from Anantnag and Arun Nagial are Captain and Vice-Captain of the J&K team respectively.
Keeping in view, the latest directions of All India Football Federation, that every State team should have minimum five under-21 players in their squad of 20 and compulsorily fielding three among five in each match, the JKFA while welcoming the step, has given maximum preference to young footballers of the State.
