JAMMU, Jan 31: Defeating Ladakh Scouts Blue in the summit clash by four goals to nil (4-0), Ladakh Scouts Red lifted the title trophy of the boys 6th CEC Ice Hockey Championship 2013 at Karzoo Ice Hockey Rink, today.
In girls’ category, the Secmol team bagged the trophy by beating the Siachen Angel by a solitary goal.
The closing function was presided over by the CEC of LAHDC Rigzin Spalbar.
Speaking on the occasion, CEC said, “Over the years, the standard of Ice Hockey and Skating has improved manifolds, adding that LAHDC will put all efforts to complete the ongoing execution of Ice Hockey Rink at Skyatsags by next year and he assured to enhance the allocation for conducting the future course of tournaments.
Likewise, the third position in boys section was bagged by ITBP team and among women section Lalok Ice Hockey team won the third position. Rinchen Tundup of Ladakh Scout Red team was declared best Ice Hockey player of the tournament while as Dechen Dolkar of SECMOL team was judged best Ice Hockey player among girls.
The competition of girls figure skating and speed skating race in different age categories of both boys and girls were also held today at Karzoo Ice Hockey Rink. To entertain the audience, the Band Group of Ladakh Scouts also performed melodious songs on the occasion.
Prominent among others who witnessed the final match were Executive Councilor for Health Dr Sonam Wangchuk, Executive Councilor Tourism Gyurmet Dorjey, CO, Ladakh Scouts, ADC, Leh Tsering Murup Councilor Upper Leh Gelong Lobzang Nangtyak and many top level Army officers .
