SRINAGAR: Lt Gen AK Bhatt on Thursday took charge as the new General officer Commanding (GoC) of Srinagar-based Army’s 15 Corps.
Defence Ministry spokesperson Colonel Rajesh Kalia told UNI Lt Gen AK Bhatt took over as the Corps Commander of Srinagar based 15 Corps, also called the Chinar Corps. Lt Gen Bhatt will be the 47th Corps Commander of Army’s 15 Corps and has succeeded Lt Gen JS Sandhu.
Before taking over as GOC 15 Corps, he has served as Director General Military Operations (DGMO) in Army Headquarters. The appointment of Lt Gen Bhatt comes at a time troops foiled an infiltration bid in Tangdhar sector on Thursday. (AGENCIES)
