JAMMU, Dec 18: Former MLA and vice president of National Conference, Women Wing, Bimla Luthra has stressed for the political empowerment of women folk in the State.
While addressing party workers at Pathipur in Bishnah today, Luthra appealed the women political activists to play their important role in strengthening democracy in the State.
“Women’s empowerment is imperative for harmonious growth of the society. The political parties must give enough space to the women in the political field “, Luthra said.
She further said that National Conference has always provided a platform to the women political activists to take active part in democracy so that they can work for economic emancipation and political empowerment of women. She said NC is the only party that can steer the State to peace, progress and development.
Luthra urged upon the National Conference functionaries and workers to reach out to the people in their areas and have people’s problems solved at appropriate levels.
Senior women wing activists- Darshana Devi, Sudesh Kumari, Bharti, Raj Kumari and Jyoti Devi were also present in the meeting.
