SRINAGAR, July 11: Defeating Government Women’s College M A Road in a close contest via tie-breaker in the summit clash, Mallinson Girls School lifted the title trophy in the Kashmir Women’s Football Tournament, here.
Organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA), the two-day Tournament was decided by a penalty shootout after the two teams were locked in a goalless draw at the end of full-time.
While Mallinson strikers managed to score two of their five penalty kicks, the Women College players managed only one goal, thus Mallinson School won the match by (2-1).
Secretary Technical Education and Youth Services and Sports, Parvez Ahmad Malik gave away the prizes.
Government Girls Higher Secondary Institute Kothibagh bagged the third position in the four-team tournament.
