JAMMU, June 17: A 31-year-old man reportedly drowned in canal here today, officials said.
Bhanu Kumar son of Rattan Lal of House Number 147, New Plot Jammu, left his home early morning and didn’t return home until 3 pm when his body was found by some passerby along the canal at Canal Road Jammu, who informed the police, they said.
Accordingly, the body was shifted to the mortuary of the Government Medical College Jammu by a team of Police Post Canal.
While the post-mortem of the deceased will be performed tomorrow by a board of doctors.
Police have initiated inquest proceedings to ascertain the reasons behind the death of the individual.
