JAMMU, Nov 6: All J&K OBC Maha Sabha and Dogra family paid rich tributes to late Hans Raj Dogra, Ex-MLA of Jammu west and founder member of Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) erstwhile Jansangh in J&K state.
Hans Raj Dogra was the first MLA from OBC community and a close associate of Atal Behari Vajpyee, Ex-Prime Minister of India, Lal Krishan Advani, Madan Lal Khorana, Kedar Nath Sahani, Sushma Sawraj, Pandit Prem Nath Dogra, Chaman Lal Gupta, Daya Krishan Kotwal and other senior leaders of BJP.
Sat Pal Sharma, MLA, Jammu west and State BJP president, who attended the programme as chief guest, also paid rich tributes to late Hans Raj Dogra.
During the programme, the speakers disclosed that during his tenure as MLA Dogra’s focus was towards the development of Jammu west constituency for which the masses of Jammu west are still remembering him. He was also in favour of imposing a ban on liquor and nauseating items in Jammu and Kashmir and raised these issues many times in the State Assembly.
They recalled how Dogra raised the issues of Other Backward Classes in the State Legislative Assembly like implementation of their fundamental constitutional rights of 27% reservation in State Government services and helped the OBC masses in getting OBC certificates on caste birth irrespective of their occupation on March 24, 1998.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Bansi Lal Choudhary, Mohan Lal Pawar, Surinder Bhagat, Suman Dogra, Aditya Dogra, Kasturi Lal Basotra, BL Bhardwaj, Jeetraj, Ashok Dogra, Ram Lubaya, Kamal Kishore Bhardwaj, Vishal Choudhary, Mangat Ram, Rattan Lal and Tara Chand.
