JAMMU, Feb 17: The Ahmadiyya Muslim community is going to organize its 5th Annual Peace Symposium at Jammu on February 18.
The purpose of this programme, titled ‘Justice to an unjust world’, is to achieve larger goal of attaining peace in society by bringing people from diverse walks of life together and provide them a forum to exchange ideas and experience on its attainment in pluralistic society.
Leaders and scholars from various fields and faiths have been invited to express their ideas, particularly on the topic of Pluralism and Tolerance.
This was informed by members of the Peace Symposium Committee while addressing a press conference, here today.
Those, who were present in the press conference, included Molvi Yusuf Anwar, Moulana Nazeer Mushtaq, Advocate N A Choudhary, N D Wani, Mubashar Ahmad, Aurangzeb Rather and G H Fani.
“The world today is passing through very turbulent times. Being a global community and a purely Islamic organization with its firm objective to establish global peace, we consider our first and foremost duty to guide the word towards peace because Islam is a religion of peace and very meaning of Islam is peace and harmony,” said Moulvi Yusuf Anwar. He also threw light on teachings of Islam and Ahmadiyya Muslim community, founded by Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian in 1889 in the small village Qadian (district Gurdaspur, Punjab), which is now spread in 209 countries of the world.
The day long Peace Symposium will be held at Teachers Bhawan Auditorium, Gandhi Nagar and the audience will be comprised of diverse background viz, religious leaders, social activists, academicians, bureaucrats, young professional and students.
