RAJOURI, Apr 29: Police arrested a drug peddler and seized a large quantity of banned drugs, which were being smuggled by him in a Scorpio vehicle.
Reports said that during ROP duty for security of CAPF Coys, suspicious movement of a vehicle, black colored Scorpio bearing registration number JK02AH-4941 and coming from Sunderbani side, was noticed near Bakher NHW. The vehicle was stopped and searched by joint party of Police and SSB deployed for ROP duty.
During search, 550 bottles, 100 ml each of MavreX-T( which contains Codeine Phosphate) and 1800 capsules of Pyvoxron( contains Tramadol) were recovered.
Police arrested driver of the vehicle, identified as Mohd Hafiz alias Pitta, son of Mohd Yousuf, resident of Gulabpura, Tehsil Chasana, Distt Reasi, at present Aiti Rajouri. A case under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Dharamsal and further investigation is going on, said SHO Dharamsal, Inspector Vishal Kumar.
