KOTA (RAJASTHAN), Sept 9: “Smart Citizen” is the pre-requisite for execution of a successful Smart City concept at any place in the nation.
This was said by Amit Sharma, Regional Director, Survey & Land Records (S&LR), Udhampur/Reasi, while shared his perspective on how Smart City concept can be taken forward, during a two-day Kota Smart City Summit, where being a specialist of e-Governance he led a crucial session on ‘Best Practices on Major Urban Schemes: Smart City, AMRUT & Swachh Bharat’ which also included technical presentations.
Further elaborating, Amit explained that by this, he meant that his definition of a Smart Citizen included a well-aware, fully conscious and an alert citizen with a healthy and sound mind falls in this category. Only such citizens can act as active contributors and stakeholders towards creating and execution of Smart City concept, otherwise it becomes tough to achieve this ardent task of creating sustainable and best Smart Cities of future.
Apart from this, very interactive discussions were held during this session well moderated by Amit Sharma which included an innovative addition of Industry presentations. Also, lot of issues were touched and areas were covered relating to Smart Cities including provision of better equipments for Solid Waste Management and Pick-Up Equipments in Smart Cities, provision of Intelligent and Smart Energy Saving Solutions, Creation of Smart Civil Structures like Mesh-drawn Roads, Wells, Holes, etc, Excellent and Smart health solutions using latest applications available across the board, mobile telephony solutions and using 10% Solar energy as a source of energy for upcoming Smart Cities.
At the culmination of the session, Amit Sharma handed over mementos to the co-panelists and all stakeholders present in the Conference resolved to keep making their efforts contributing towards making the concept of Smart Cities a huge success in their respective spheres.
