SRINAGAR, Feb 2: In consonance with the national level endeavor of emancipation of women, aptly embodied in the slogan ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padao’, a number of girls have enrolled for the Cutting,Tailoring and Fashion Designing courses in Army’s Youth centre at Boniyar in Baramulla district.
An Army spokesman said they have undertaken a large number of initiatives to empower women. One among them is the skill development activities at Youth Centre, Boniyar. Sustained efforts from the Army have motivated and young girls to enroll for the Cutting and Tailoring and Fashion Designing courses,” he said
“As part of the motivational endeavor, 25 girls from the course were taken to Delhi, Chandigarh and Amritsar to give them exposure to the endless possibilities which are available. They were taken to various institutes in these cities and were given firsthand experience of various avenues available,” he added.
