REASI, July 16: The police seized 10 bovine animals and arrested one person for smuggling these animals in Chassana area of Mahore today.
A police spokesman said that acting on a specific information, a police party led by SHO Chassana under the supervision of SDPO Mahore, Mohd Aslam intercepted ten bovine animals at Bumbal Abhi during nakka near Chassana on Mahore -Budhal Road and arrested one bovine smuggler. His one associate managed to slip away.
The arrested person was identified as Shabir Ahmed, son of Jamal Din, resident of Shergarhi village in Chassana area of Mahore. All the bovine animals were rescued. The police registered a case under FIR No. 33/ 2016 against the accused persons and started investigation. The manhunt was launched for the absconding smuggler.
