10 teams to vie for coveted trophy of first-ever PPCPL Srinagar from May 6

*Over 150 players selected in bidding

SRINAGAR, June 2: After the success of Police Public Cricket Premier League (PPCPL) at Jammu, J&K Police (JKP) is going to organize first-ever PPCPL at Srinagar from May 6 onwards for which auction was held here in which over 150 players including former and current Ranji players made their entry into 10 teams.
The auction was declared open by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir and Director of the League Syed Javaid Mujtaba Gillani at SKICC here in presence of Ghulam Hasan Bhat, DIG CKR, Amit Kumar SSP Kashmir and Nodal Officer of the League, RK Bhat, SSP Home Guard, member of the Organizing Team, Waseem Qadri SP Headquarters and member of the Organizing Team.
Apart from good number of current and former Ranji Players, Under-19/23 players, there were many budding cricketers who were bought for the highest bid by the owners. A total of 407 players participated in the bid and 160 make cut into 10 teams.
While speaking, IGP Kashmir threw light on the objective of the League and said that the League apart from promoting cricketing in State and promoting police public relations, aims at helping the State Cricketers to play against the elite team like Air India having International cricketers including Robin Uthapa, Naman Ojha, Pankaj Singh and Parveen Amre.
Earlier, Rajesh Gill, former Ranji Player and Organizing Secretary of the League presented the welcome address, whereas the proceedings of the programme were conducted by Rajesh Dhar and RP Singh.
