JAMMU, Jan 3: The PHE authorities, City Division No. 1, have issued notices to nearly 106 illegal water connection (commercial/ domestic) holders of Jammu city.
Official sources said that the notices have also been served to the holders of illegal/ unregistered water bore wells. The teams led by AEE, Bakshi Nagar Sub Division and others during inspections detected 56 illegal/ unregistered borewells and 50 illegal commercial/ domestic water connections in Subhash Nagar, Bakshi Nagar, Talab Tillo, Krishan Nagar, Gumat, Ploura, Bus Stand, Hazuri Bag and various other places in the city.
The defaulters were served notices and given 15 days time to get their connections registered or face disconnection. The action has been taken under section 167 of the Jammu and Kashmir Water Resources (Regulation and Management) Act, the official said.
