JAMMU, June 25: The closing ceremony of the 10th Annual Academic Camp organized by Harbans Bhalla Educational Trust (HBET) was held today.
The students performed various cultural activities like dancing, singing and shared their experiences during the Camp.
The Camp was attended by 45 students of class (7th, 8th, 9th and 10th) hailing from backward / rural areas which included Dansal, Chak, Doomi, Gajansoo, Chakrali, Birpur, GurahSlathia , Bishnah, Jaurian, etc. Prizes were distributed among achievers in academics, games and cultural activities.
The Managing Trustee said that the students were given intensive educational coaching by some of the best lecturers and professionals from various fields.
The students were provided free boarding and lodging as well as free study material & medical care by the Trust, besides were taken for tours to Pindi Mata (Panthal), River Rafting Chanab River, Sayad Baba etc. They also attended Yoga classes and celebrated International Yoga Day.
Sports competitions were also arranged for them.
Malvika Kalra demonstrated the use of Soya as a rich source of protein and cost effective substitute to milk.
Sudhir Nanda, Director Nitco Logistics (P) Ltd was the chief guest. He asked the students to work hard and take full advantage of the support being provided to them for their bright future and excel in their studies.
He lauded the noble contribution of the trust to society by reaching out to the most needy students, especially girls in remote areas and helping them to pursue their education.
