KATRA, Sept 25: A meeting of Katra Indian Style Wrestling Association held today at Hotel Jagdamba under the chairmanship of Shiv Kumar Sharma its chairman to discuss the conduct of 10th Rustam-e-International Indian Style Dangal as a part Navratra Festival 2014 which has been jointly organized by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and Department of J&K Tourism since 1996.
In the meeting, general body of Katra Indian Style Wrestling Association unanimously resolved that International Wrestling Event be postponed keeping in view the prevailing condition of J&K State due to heavy rains and flood in which hundreds of lives has been lost besides Prime Minister of India has declared it as a National tragedy instead of J&K in his recent visit.
Earlier, two minutes silence was observed to pay the homage to the departed soul who have lost their lives recently due to heavy rains and prayed to almighty to provide the strength to family members to bear irreparable loss.
Meanwhile, association members decided to conduct the 10th Rustam-e-International Indian Style Dangal on November 9, 2014 (Sunday) instead of September 28, 2014.
President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma who is also Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association appealed the Divisional Commissioner Jammu who is also chairman of Navratra Festival committee Katra to divert the funds which were utilized for organizing International Wrestling Event in favour of Relief and Rescue of the flood victims of Jammu and Kashmir.
The proceeding of the meeting was conducted by Retd. Headmaster R.S. Manhas and vote of thanks presented by Naresh Kumar Sharma (Pappu Lakri) president of the Katra Wrestling Association.
