11 bovines rescued, 2 arrested

RAMBAN, Aug 29: Police rescued 11 bovine animals and arrested two persons, here today.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a team from Ramban police station laid a naka near Shan Palace on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02AC-2371.
During checking, police rescued 11 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested two persons, who have been identified as Mohammad Saleem (driver), son of Mohammad Tariq of Kachwan Kokernag and Mofqat Hussain, son of Mohammad Sadiq, a resident of Bani Basra, District Kathua.
A case under FIR Number 130/17 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at police station Ramban and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Ramban Inspector Rajeshwar Singh foiled the bovines smuggling bid under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ramban Imtiyaz Ahmed, Additional SP Ramban Mushtaq Choudhary and SSP Ramban Mohan Lal.
