RAMBAN, Sept 6: Eleven persons were injured when the Tata Sumo they were traveling in skidded off the road and rolled down into gorge near Bawa Mangit area of Khari Sector, falling under the jurisdiction of Banihal Police Station.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK03D-2348 was on its way from Mangith to Khari, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it fell into gorge near Bawa Mangit area of Khari Sector, resulting into injuries to 11 persons including the driver.
After getting information, a team from Khari Police Post led by SI Wasim Mehraj rushed to the spot and rescued the injured persons with the help of locals.
All the injured persons were rushed to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Banihal, from where two injured persons were referred to a hospital in Srinagar for specialized treatment.
The injured have been identified as Mohammad Amin Mir (driver), son of Sultan Mir of Mangit, Imran Chopan, son of Gul Chopan of Mangit, Naseema Begum, wife of Ghulam Hussan of Mangit, Abdul Ghani Mir, son of Gul Mohammad Mir of Mangit, Bakta Begum, wife of late Bashir Ahmed of Mangit, Mohammad Amin Pachoo, son of Ghulam Nabi Pachoo of Bawa Khari, Mohammad Rafiq, son of Gul Mohammad of Khari, Farat Ahmed Bhat, son of Mohammad Akbar Bhat of Lamber Banihal, Sajad Ahmed Bhat, son of Abdul Rashid Bhat of Lamber, Tanveer Ahmed, son of Ghulam Hussain Mir of Mangit and Muneer Ahmed, son of Ghulam Hussain of Aramarg.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Banihal Police Station and investigation started.
