RAJOURI, June 9: With the arrest of five burglars, the police claimed to have worked out a dozen theft cases in Nowshera area. Stolen property, including gold was also recovered.
Giving details a police spokesman said that Nowshera police solved 12 burglaries and recovered gold ornaments among other goods worth over Rs 15 lakhs. He said that from May 19 to May 23, five different complaints regarding burglaries were received at Nowshera Police Station.
The theft incidents were reported from Bareri, Nonialm, Chowki Handan and Nowshera town under PS Nowshera. Later, one more such complaint was received from village Thandapani of Police Station Sunderbani, In all these incidents, it was found during investigation that burglaries were committed while the owners were either attending some marriage functions or were out due to their social or religious commitments.
The police registered FIRs 110, 113, 114, 116, 117 of 2023 U/Ss 457/380 IPC at Police Station Nowshera and a case FIR No. 35/ 2023 U/Ss 457 380 at Police Station Sunderbani.
The investigation of these cases was carried by different investigation officers of these police stations including PSIs Vishal Sharma, Anis Choudhary and Vikas Khullar under the supervision of SHO Nowshera Rajesh Jasrotia and SDPO Nowshera Tussif Ahmed.
The investigation team working on various angles picked up a suspect, namely Rajesh Kumar and put him under sustained questioning during which he confessed his involvement in the commission of different burglaries.
Upon his confessional disclosure recovery valuing around Rs 10 lakhs has been made by Police; solving eight burglaries in Nowshera. Some more recoveries are expected in near future.
The police during May also worked out two burglaries committed on National Highway in village Lamberi wherein stolen properties of groceries, batteries among others valuing around one lakh has been recovered upon confessional disclosure of three accused persons. Moreover two Motor vehicle theft cases too have been solved with recoveries valuing around Rs 4 lakhs and arrest of additional two accused persons.
