13 injured in 2 road accidents

RAJOURI, May 11:  At least 13 persons were injured in two separate road accidents at Dera Gali in Thannamandi and another near Rajouri town today.
A police spokesman said that  a Xylo vehicle No. JK-12/4992 which was on way to Kashmir from Jammu via Mughal Road, met with an accident at Dera Gali at around 11.15 am today. Nine passengers, mostly from labour class hailing from Bihar, were injured and were removed to Surankote hospital by police. The driver of the vehicle managed to escape. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
Meanwhile, four passengers were injured when a bus fell into a small gorge near Salani bridge in Rajouri today. The mishap took place when the Video Bus No. JK02AB/3570 had stopped near the bridge to collect passengers.  The driver kept the bus start and he got down to ease. The bus was in neutral gear. Suddenly, the vehicle started moving at its own.
The passengers inside started crying  and some of them jumped outside in panic. The bus after moving at some distance fell into a gorge and turned turtle. Four injured persons were rushed to local hospital while driver escaped from the spot. The police has registered a case against the driver.
