SAMBA, Apr 17: A team of Legal Metrology Department, (LMD) Samba led Assistant Controller, Legal Metrology, Anita Sharma booked thirteen defaulters and recovered a fine of Rs 13,400 from them.
The team assisted by Inspector Narinder Kumar framed cases against 13 traders for violation of various provisions of Weights and Measures laws during inspection at Rajpura, Ghagwal, Jatwal, Samba, Vijaypur and Bari-Brahmana. The department also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on a leading cement manufacturer of India for violation of PC rules. The consumers were also advised to be vigilant while purchasing goods.
