JAMMU, Dec 6: Jammu Adventure Sports Club organised 13th Annual Sati Sahni Memorial Inter-School Debate competition at Army Public School, Nagrota.
The topic of debate was “India should depend on Nuclear Power for its Energy Needs”, in which 16 participants from 8 leading schools of Jammu took part.
On the occasion, the chief guest was Brigadier DS Tripathi, whereas the guest of honour was Prem Sahni. Rohini Rohit Gurung, Principal Army School, Nagrota, presided over the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Aparna Kuthiala, Vice Chairman, Jammu Adventure Sports Club gave a brief history of Club and stated that the aim of Club is to encourage adventure sports, promotion of cultural heritage and protection of the environment.
In the debate, Raggad Rafiq from Jodhamal Public School stood first, whereas Shivam Puri from Jodhamal Public School claimed second position. Tanu Raina and Rupunshi Sai from Heritage School shared third rank.
The Judges were Prof Baba VKS Potukuchi from Department of Physics, Dr Deepshikha Kotwal from Department of English, University of Jammu and Dr Mala Broca.
The convener of the debate was Sarla Kohli, whereas Gunjan Kohli conducted the proceedings of the programme.
