13th District Srinagar Taekwondo C’ship concludes

JAMMU, Aug 22: The 13th District Srinagar Taekwondo Championships 2023-24 concluded here today.
The championship was held between August 20 to 21 at the Indoor Hall, Polo Ground, Srinagar, under the theme “My Youth, My Pride,” and were coordinated by the Taekwondo Association of District Srinagar under the auspices of the J&K Taekwondo Association (Regd), with support from the J&K Sports Council (JKSC).
Muzaffar Hussain Wani, Divisional Sports Officer (Kashmir) was present as the chief guest accompanied by Rouf Ahmed Bhat (Sports Promoter and Under Secretary to the Govt. Forest Department). The championship was headed by Nissar Hussain, Vice President, JKTA, and Junaid Mayer Qasba, Secretary, Taekwondo Association of District Srinagar.
The District Taekwondo Association felicitated Sultan (a para athlete), who was selected for the forthcoming World Para Taekwondo Championship and Sadia Tariq, a renowned international Wushu player and former Taekwondo athlete. The Technical Team, which made fair play decisions throughout the championship, was led by Master Atul Pangotra (International Referee, WT).
The referees were Rohit Sharma, Suhail Khan, Shah Faiq, Musadiq, Faizan Ahmad, Tanveer, Adeeba, Aqib Gulzar, Suhail Ahmed and Anees Bhat. All the medalists of the 13th District Srinagar Taekwondo Championship will represent District Srinagar in the forthcoming 26th J&K UT Taekwondo Championships in 2023.
