13th Jammu District Sport Climbing Competition gets underway

JAMMU, Apr 20: Two-day 13th Jammu District Sport Climbing Competition, being organized by Mountaineering Association of J&K in collaboration with Sprawling Buds School, Chinore gets underway in the school premises, here today.
The competition was declared open by Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Ashwani Sharma, in presence of Sanjit Khajuria, Assistant Director, Doordarshan Kendra, Jammu, MS Baba, Chief Sports Officer, Rajan Sharma, Sports Officer, J&K State Sports Council, Ram Khajuria, Secretary, Mountaineering Association of J&K, Everesters Ram Singh and Sajad Hyder, Rahul Sharma, Ramesh Khajuria and Arti Sharma, Directors of Sprawling Buds School besides  office bearers of the Association and lovers of the  sport were also present.
While speaking, Ashwani Sharma assured all possible help for further training of the selected talented climbers at the international standard climbing walls outside the State.
In the competition, a total of 210 climbers from across Jammu district are participating in 8 categories of men, women, boys, girls, sub junior boys, sub junior girls, mini boys and mini girls in Lead climbing only.
Meanwhile, nine climbers led by Abhishek Slathia of Oriental Academy entered the final round of the competition in the Boys category. Similarly, Ram Narayan of Banyan International School led 10 other climbers to enter the final round in the Mini Boys category. In the Mini Girls category, which has been introduced this year only, Asma Gul of Sprawling Buds and Christina Gurung of Banyan International School are leading five others in the final rounds.
Shawetica Khajuria, national Judge of the game is the President of Jury, Shivani Raj Kaith, a renowned national climber is the Chief Route Setter and Anil Kumar is overall incharge of the competition.
Today’s Result:
Mini Girls: Asma Gul, Chiristina Gurung, Amisha, Nikita Sharma, Kunjal Koul, Ria Sharma and Jahanvi Singh emerged winners.
Mini Boys: Ram Narayan, Nipun Negi, Siddharth Singh, Sanyam Bhat, Aman Jaguri, Pragun Khajuria, Javed Choudhary, Mandeep Prihar, Randeep Singh, Surinder Singh and Harneet Singh emerged winners.
Sub Junior Girls: Shilpa Charak, Anshu Pandita, Nitya Sharma, Tanisha Kaushal, Bhavika, Vibhuti  Tickoo, Ria Khajuria, Sanyogita Saini and Vaibhavi Sharma registered wins.
Sub Junior Boys: Sourav Deep Singh, Aditya Kumar, Gourav Chettri, Mrityunjay Sharma, Tandeep Singh, Aman Dogra, Vikrant Singh, Anil Sharma and Jugraj Singh emerged winners.
In Girls category: Divyanshi Abrol, Vaishali Mishra, Muskan Abrol, Prakshi Gupta, Muskan Khajuria and Arminder emerged winners.
In Boys category: Abhishek Slathia, Ashish Thakur, Hardev Singh, Nikhil Sharma, Kartik Khatiala, Praful Pandita, Dilpreet Singh, Prabjot Singh and Hrithik Sharma emerged winners.
