KATHUA, Jan 2: The ongoing 13th Police Martyr’s Memorial North Zone T-20 Cricket Championship 2024-25 saw two exciting encounters at the Sports Stadium, here today.
In the first match, Sandhu XI Ludhiana won the toss and opted to bowl first against KKR XI. KKR XI posted 124 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. The key contributors for KKR XI were Dikshant, who scored 30 runs off 25 balls with 1 boundary and 3 sixes, and Manmeet, who made 28 runs from 15 balls, hitting 4 boundaries and 1 six. In response, Sandhu XI chased the target of 125 runs in 15.4 overs, losing 9 wickets. Munish top-scored for Sandhu XI with 28 runs off 21 balls, while Sachit played a crucial role, scoring 26 runs from 17 balls. Sandhu XI won the match by 1 wicket, with Sachit being named Man of the Match for his stellar all-round performance, taking 3 wickets for just 15 runs in 4 overs and contributing 26 runs with the bat.
The second match saw Bhawani Youth Academy elect to bowl first after winning the toss. Vicky XI Pathankot were all out for 131 runs in 20 overs, with Abhinav’s 24 runs from 23 balls being the highest score. Bhawani Youth Academy chased down the target comfortably, reaching 132 runs in 19.3 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Ronit was the top scorer for Bhawani, making 37 runs off 31 balls. Neelmani, with a brilliant 4-wicket haul for 19 runs in 4 overs, was named Man of the Match.
