JAMMU, Sept 18: The 14th District Srinagar Taekwondo Championship 2024-25 will take place from September 27 to 28 at the Indoor Hall, Polo Ground, Srinagar. Organized by the Taekwondo Association of District Srinagar under the aegis of the J&K Taekwondo Association (JKTA) and supported by the J&K Sports Council, the event is part of the “My Youth My Pride” initiative.
The championship is open to Sub Junior, Cadet, Junior and Senior athletes from District Srinagar. Medalists will earn the opportunity to represent District Srinagar at the upcoming 27th J&K UT Taekwondo Championships 2024-25. Participation is contingent upon athletes holding a valid JKTA Athlete License, and Senior athletes must present Black Belt certificates, as per Taekwondo Federation of India (TFI) guidelines.
The weigh-in for participants is scheduled for September 26 at 5:00 PM at the Polo Ground, and athletes must bring completed registration forms signed by parents, along with their Aadhar card, JKTA license, and Date of Birth certificate. This event is seen as a key step in advancing taekwondo in the district, providing local athletes with a platform to compete at the state level.
