15 bovine animals rescued, 8 arrested

JAMMU, July 24: Nagrota and Akhnoor Police rescued 15 bovine animals and arrested eight persons.
As per police sources, on specific information teams from Police Station Nagrota led by SHO Inspector Vishav Pratap Singh under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar and Police Station Akhnoor led by SHO Inspector Hilal Azhar under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandial laid nakas in their respective areas and intercepted four vehicles bearing registration numbers JK14G-6472, JK02AG-7466, JK11F-5800 and JK21C-0439.
During checking, police teams rescued 15 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested eight persons, who were identified as Rajesh Kumar of Dandrote District Udhampur, Arshad Ali of Jandhra Challar District Jammu, Shakeel Ahmed of Samroli District Udhampur, Mohd Hafeez of Kha Jamota District Rajouri, Jagbir Singh of Kotranka District Rajouri, Barman Singh of District Poonch, Kuldeep Singh of Kagimorha District Poonch and Deedar Singh of Degwar Maldaiana District Poonch.
Cases under relevant sections have been registered at Police Stations Nagrota and Akhnoor and investigation started.
The overall arrests were made under the supervision of SP Rural Jammu Sanjay Sharma.
