JAMMU, Nov 23: A `Heart Wellness Camp’ was today organized at village Ratnuchak in which more than 150 patients were examined.
The camp was organized under the supervision of Dr Sushil K Sharma, Head of Department Cardiology Government Medical College Jammu along with a team of doctors comprising Dr. Nasir, Dr Salma, Dr Mohi Kalsotra, Dr D Kapoor, Dr Vijay Singh, Dr. Aniti Pal Singh and paramedics including Kashmiri Singh and volunteers including Gourav Sharma and Sahil Sharma.
A large number of patients availed the benefits of this camp including clinical examination and investigations like ECG and blood sugar detection regarding wellness of the heart were conducted. Moreover, medicines for various heart aliments were distributed free to the patients.
Dr Sharma highlighted various measures required for keeping the most important organ of the body i.e. heart in good shape. Heart wellness of a person is of utmost importance for keeping the person healthy in all spheres of life ,he stressed.
“All the people should do something to keep their heart well. This includes daily morning walk or any other type of heart friendly workout, control various risk factors like hypertension, diabetes, obesity and hyperlipidemia, consuming healthy diet free of atherogens and staying away from damaging factors like smoking and excessive alcohol’’.
