157 test +ve in Kashmir including 11 security men

Srinagar, June 26: Kashmir reported 157 fresh coronavirus cases today taking number of the COVID-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 6762. They include 9 travellers, 11 security men and 2 pregnant women.
Among the cases, 74 tested positive at SKIMS hospital Soura, 70 at Chest Diseases Hospital Srinagar and 13 at SKIMS Medical College Bemina virology laboratories.
Medical Superintendent SKIMS Soura, Dr Farooq Jan, told Excelsior that 2653 samples were processed at the Viral Diagnostic lab today and 74 tested positive for the virus.
Among them, 24 are from Pulwama, 18 Shopian, nine Baramulla, six each Anantnag and BSF/CRPF Battalions, five Kulgam, two Srinagar and one from Kupwara.
Dr Riyaz Untoo, Principal SKIMS Bemina, told Excelsior that out of 590 samples processed at the hospital’s lab, 13 tested positive for COVID-19, all from Budgam.
An official said that 1131 samples were processed at the CD hospital laboratory in Srinagar and 70 tested positive. Among them 9 are from Border Roads Organization’s 109 RCC based in Kupwara and two from Army whose samples were sent for testing from 92-Base Hospital at Badami Bagh Cantonment in Srinagar. A lady doctor from Sopore area of Baramulla district is among the positive cases.
Officials said 78 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals of Kashmir today.
Bandipora has 284 positive cases with 45 active, 238 recovered and one death; Srinagar has 795 positive cases with 539 active, 234 recovered, 22 deaths; Anantnag district has 627 positive cases with 165 active, 456 recovered, 6 deaths; Baramulla has 748 positive cases with 375 active, 359 recovered, 14 deaths; Shopian has 704 positive cases with 176 active, 518 recovered and 10 deaths; Kupwara has 508 positive cases with 134 active, 369 recovered and 5 deaths; Budgam has 358 positive cases with 165 active and 186 recovered cases and 7 deaths; Ganderbal has 82 positive cases with 20 active cases has 62 recoveries; Kulgam has 751 positive cases with 246 active, 494 recoveries and 11 deaths and Pulwama reported 409 positive cases with 233 active, 172 recovered and 4 deaths.
