JAMMU, Dec 13: The 15th State Speedball Championship was inaugurated today at Sukhsagar Bhawan, Jammu, with Suram Singh (SSP), Commandant of the 8th Battalion Miran Sahib, as the chief guest. The two-day event, organized by the J&K Sports Speedball Association, witnessed around 450 players from various schools across Jammu and Kashmir competing.
Ranjeet Kour (Excise Taxation Department) served as the presiding guest, with notable attendees including CL Banyalia (Retd. IGP), Natha Ram (Secretary, Sukhsagar Bhawan), and Dr. D.R. Chadgal (Member). Special guests included Pooja Malhotra (Founder Patron), Munish Gupta (Vice President), Ramma Mattoo (Vice President), and Sucha Singh (Event Director).
Humanity Public School claimed the Overall Champion Trophy, while Jammu Sanskriti School secured the 2nd Runner-Up position and Shiksha Niketan Hr. Sec. School placed 3rd Runner-Up. SSP Suram Singh commended the event for involving a large number of young players. Sunny Nanda, General Secretary of the J&K Sports Speedball Association, also highlighted the association’s national and international accomplishments. The winning players will represent J&K at the upcoming inter-state Speedball Championship in Himachal Pradesh. The event was hosted by Vanshika Manhas.
