SRINAGAR: Sixteen guests from Pakistan- Occupied Kashmir (PoK) arrived here while only three Kashmiris crossed over to other side of the Line of Control (LoC) to the meet their relatives, separated in 1947.
As many as 24 returnees also crossed sides at Kaman post, the last Indian military post on LoC in Uri sector, official sources said here today.
They said 16 PoK guests, including six women and a child, arrived at Kaman post after crossing the Aman Setu, peace bridge on foot.
A Kashmiri, who had gone to PoK, also returned in the Karvan-e- Aman bus, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad since April 7,2005 after Pakistan and India agreed to allow divided families to meet each other on travel permits instead of International passport.
They said three Kashmiris also crossed to the other side of the LoC to meet their relatives. They included a woman.
Similarly 23 PoK residents, who had come here in previous buses also returned to their homes after completing their stay in Kashmir with their relatives. They included ten women.
The bus service has helped thousands of divided families to meet each other since Prime Minister Manmohan Singh flagged off first bus from here despite threat by militants. (AGENCIES)
