JAMMU, June 11: Additional Director General of Police (DGP) Home Guards/Civil Defence and State Disaster Response Force, D R Doley Berman today sanctioned promotion in favour of 165 personnel of the force after a meeting of the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC).
The promoted officials included two Sub Inspectors (Ministerial), two Assistant Sub Inspectors (Ministerial), 20 Head Constables, 69 Selection Grade Constables, 6 Selection Grade Constables (Ministerial) and 66 constables.
“It is for the first time that such a large number of promotions have been approved in State Disaster Response Force, Home Guards and Civil Defence”, an official handout said.
