RAJOURI, May 12: At least 17 goats and sheep were killed while a dozen others injured in a lightning incident in Kotranka area of district Rajouri this afternoon.
A police spokesman said that 17 goats/ sheep of Mohd Hussain and Mohd Sadiq, residents of Tredu in Kalakote were killed when they were moving towards Dhok at Pir Panjal. When they reached at Kark village in Kotranka after passing through Khawas area, they were struck due to heavy rain and thunder storm. A strong beam from the sky hit the sheep and goats killing at leads 17 of them on the spot. A dozen others were injured. Kotranka police has taken cognizance of the matter.
