Srinagar, Mar 25: The J&K Water Skiing Association, under the aegis of the J&K Sports Council, today kicked off the 17th Union Territory Water Skiing Championship on the banks of Dal lake.
The two-day competition, will conclude tomorrow, has attracted athletes from across Jammu and Kashmir.
Organizers highlighted that women athletes are competing on par with their male counterparts, aiming to represent J&K in the upcoming National Water Skiing Championship.
They said that the championship aims to bring together water skiing enthusiasts from across the Union Territory, providing them with a platform to showcase their talent and promote water sports in the region.
“The event promises to showcase the thrill and excitement of water skiing, with participants demonstrating their skills and agility on the water,” organizers said.
Dal lake, with its serene surroundings and crystal-clear waters, serves as an ideal setting for the championship, they added.
They further stated that the event has drawn participants from various districts, competing in different categories.
“The championship not only promotes water skiing but also encourages tourism and highlights the natural beauty of Kashmir.”
