19 students of KC Public trek to Sach Pass Region

JAMMU, June 7: 19 students of KC Public School trekked to Sach Pass Region in District Chamba of Himachal Pradesh from June 2 to June 6, 2014.
The trek was undertaken in fulfillment of adventure requirement for the Bronze Award under the International Award for Young People (IAYP) Scheme of which the School is a registered operator.
The students started the first leg of the trek from Tissa to Bairagarh on June 3, 2014, covering a distance of 10 kilometers. On June 4, the trekkers undertook an acclimatization trek from Bairagarh to Devi Kothi, covering an uphill climb of 6 kilometers. After visiting the ancient temple of Chamunda Devi at Devi Kothi, the trekkers returned to Bairagarh for the night halt.
The third and the last leg of the trek took the students to Satrundi Base Camp located at an altitude of 11000 ft in the Sach Pass Region.
Sach Pass is the gateway of Pangi tribal valley on the banks of river Chenab.
The students who completed the trek were Mohammed Amir, Vishesh Lalotra, Gourav Dhir, Aryan Verma, Mayank Wali, Samarth Koul, Sachin Mehra, Nalin Pandohi, Ayush Bhat, Mehul Gupta, Shaswat Dhar, Pranav Gupta, Divyansh Bargotra, Lavyan Gupta, Avineet Bhat, Kartik Kanna, Abhijit Singh Salathia, Rhytham Sharma and Ashish Pandita.
The trekkers were escorted by Ajay Khanna, Jernal Singh and Dr Ram Thakur as Adult Award Leaders.
