JAMMU, Oct 30: 1st Inter Polytechnic Annual Sports Meet “Sportech 2018” entered Day-2 at Government Polytechnic, Bikram Chowk Jammu.
On the second day, Er Arun Bangotra, Principal of Government Polytechnic College Bikram Chowk along with Er Inderjeet Singh, Er K.S. Bhatia Sports Secretary, Guminderpreet Kour PEM and Toshi Devi PET interacted with various participating teams.
In Cricket Tournament, Government Polytechnic Kishtwar beat Government Polytechnic Kathua by 38 runs. Jalil Ahmed from GP Kishtwar took 4 wickets and was declared as Man of the Match. In second match, GP Ramban defeated ASC Polytechnic by 6 wickets. Jasser from GP Ramban was declared as Man of the Match who remained unbeaten on 26 runs. GP Udhampur batting first scored 65 runs in 12 overs while GP Samba was bundled out on 24 runs. Man of the Match was Pintu Singh of GP Udhampur who took 4 wickets.
In Volleyball Tournament, first match was played between GP Jammu and GP Reasi in which GP registered win by 25-17, 25-26 and 25-15. In second match played between ASC Polytechnic Jammu and GP Kathua, ASC Polytechnic emerged winner by 25-1 and 25-11.
In Table Tennis Tournament, Shivam Harkar from GP Jammu defeated Piyush Pandita from same college by 9-11, 11-9, 7-11, 10-11. The second match was between Abhay Singh and Vishal Dogra from GP Jammu in which Vishal Dogra registered win by 11-2, 11-7, 11-2. Third match was played between Parav Bhal from ASC Polytechnic and Sahil Sharma from GP Jammu, in which Parav Bhal emerged winner by 11-0, 11-4, 11-2. In the last match Aryan Gupta from GP Udhampur registered win by 11-2, 11-6, 11-3 over Paramjit from GP Jammu.
In Carom Tournament, winners were Azhar Mehmood and Amanjot from Government Polytechnic Jammu, Sahil Bubey and Sorav Sharma Government Polytechnic Kathua. In Girls section, winners were Liza Talashi and Zara Talashi Government Women Polytechnic Jammu and Pupinder Kour and Payal Manhas from GP Jammu.
In Chess Tournament, Minckel and Paras from GP Samba defeated Arshdeep and Hartik from G P Jammu. In the second match, Minckel and Paras from GP Samba defeated Deepak and Gaurav from GP Reasi.
