JAMMU, June 11: The 1st J&K Ranking Championship-2024 commenced at MA Stadium, here today. The tournament was organized by J&K Table Tennis Association and will continue till June 15.
The tournament was organized by the J&K Table Tennis Association in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council under the initiative “My Youth My Pride”.
The ceremony commenced with a welcome speech by the organizing team signifying the start of the new competition season consisting of several tournaments leading into the national championships. Players from across the UT of J&K shall be participating in the tournament in the hope to get some valuable points that will help them get selected in the J&K team for this year’s national championships of various categories.
Satbir Singh, former International Table Tennis player was the chief guest. He shared his playing day’s experiences and motivated the young players to give their best in this tournament as well as in the future events. Prominent among those present were I.P Singh, Ajay Sharma, Satish Gupta, Suraj Bhan (Manager Indoor Sports Complex), Sheetal Gandotra, Dr Prabjot Singh, Narinder Singh, Meenu Rajesh and Vasu Dewan.
