JAMMU, Nov 30: 1st J&K Yoga Championship concluded at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here today.
A total of 100 boys and girls, who had emerged 1st and 2nd in District Yoga Championship held earlier in the districts of Jammu, Rajouri, Samba, Udhampur and Reasi took part in the Championship and vied for the top honours.
Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor JMC was the chief guest on the occasion, who awarded mementoes, certificates and medals to the winners.
Satish Langer was the special guest, while Ravi Singh was the guest of honour.
Earlier, Akhil Kapahi, President J&K Yoga Association presented welcome address.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Vinod Bhatia, General Secretary J&K Yoga Association, Sunil Mahajan, SS Gill, S Ravinder Singh, Vikas Gupta, Veena Chib, Satpal, Sonia Sharma and Gharu Dass.
The Championship was organised under the supervision of Anil Gupta, Mukesh Sharma and Vishal Kumar.
The selected boys and girls from various age groups will participate in Sub Junior and Junior National Championship to be held at Lucknow from December 25 to December 29, 2019.
The gold medal winners in various age groups included Agrim Chahal, Pratima Sharma, Shahzaib Akhtar, Rishika Gupta, Himanshu Verma, Soumya Gupta, Sunil Singh, Vishali Chib, Abhishek Sharma and Mrinalini Manhas.
