RAJOURI, July 25: The police seized 2.5 kgs poppy straw (Bukki), some heroin and charas from the possession of five drug-peddlers including two Policemen and arrested them during raids at different locations in Rajouri area last night. Three cars being used by them were also seized.
Official sources said that on the inputs provided by five drug- peddlers nabbed by Thannamandi Police led by SHO Karan Chalotra late last evening, the Police parties from Rajouri, under the directions of SSP, Yougal Manhas conducted raids over night and nabbed five more drug peddlers including two police men. They were found in three different cars at different locations in and around Rajouri last night.
The Police recovered 2.5 kg more Bukki, about 40 gms charas and some 35 gms heroin. A Santro car No. JK02AB/0356, Alto car No. JK11B/7664 and Swift car without number were also seized.
The arrested drug peddlers were identified as Selection Grade Constable of DPL Rajouri- Imtiaz Ahmed, son of Mohd Sadiq hailing from Gurdan Pain; Constable Shah Nawaz, son Shamsheer Hussain from Bathian; Sourabh Kumar, son of Manoj Kumar, resident of Jawahar Nagar Rajouri; Raj Kumar, son of Tirath Ram; resident of Jawhar Nagar, Rajouri and Mohd Waqas, son of Abdul Hamid, resident of Kot Dharra, Rajouri.
With this, the police seized total 4.5 kg of Bukki besides other drugs from the possession of these ten members of this gang of drug-peddlers since last evening. The police was further investigating and expecting more arrests in this connection. The locals have widely appreciated the police action.
The Police said that FIRs’ 78, 79, 80,81 & 82/ 2017 have been registered against them at Thannamandi Police Station.
