2-day historic Ram Kund Mandir Mela concludes

POONCH, Mar 16: Hundreds of  devotees from Mendhar, Surankote,  Mandi, Poonch,   Rajouri   and parts of Jammu  thronged Ram Kund Mandir during two day fair (Mela) which concluded  here today.
This fair is organized every year on ‘Chetar Choudas’  and a large  number of devotees participate in it with great religious fervour and  enthusiasm. The district and local sub-divisional level  administration had made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct  of this historic Mela.
Management Committee of the temple led by its  chairman,  Sonu  Sharma orgaised the affair, under the over all  supervision of  head priest of  the Temple. The devotees had holy bath in the Ram ‘Kund’ (pool of water) and offered special prayers during this three day festival/ fair.
The local administration said  that more than 30,000 devotees visited the shrine during  two days.  Many ‘Sadhus’ from various parts of the State also had holy dip in the ‘Ram Kund’ and offered special prayers.
A traditional  ‘Charri Yatra’ is taken out from Hanuman Temple, Mendhar to the Ram Kund Mandir on first day to declare open the Mela. A large number of devotees participate in this Yatra.
SDM Mendhar Rahual Yadav,  SDPO Mendhar,  Rayaz Tantary,  Naib  Tehasildar Mankote Mohd Kabir Khan,   SHO Mendhar  Mohd Amin, Ex Sarpanch Devinder Kumar Tandon,  Roshan  Sharma, Nishu Gupta,   Ranjeet  Sharma   and many other prominent persons of the area also participated in the fair.
