UDHAMPUR, Mar 17: Two days Judo Open Championship 2020-21 for all age groups today began, here today at Indoor Sports Complex Subash Stadium.
The event has been organised by District Judo Association in collaboration with J&K sports Council Udhampur.
Assistant Commissioner Development, Mushtaq Chowdhary was the chief guest who declared the tournament open, while Manager Sports Council Subash Stadium, Udhampur Shaktish Chopra was the guest of honour on the occasion.
District President Volley Ball Association, Raj Guru; District President, Kabaddi Association, Tanveer Sheikh; President Badminton Association, Suresh Khajuria; District Weight Lifting Association, Tarun Singh; Sanjay Sharma, Yoga Coach; Anil Gupta, Amit Chander Singh besides other were present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, District Srinagar Judo Championship, organized by J&K Judo Association ,also inaugrated at Indoor Sports Hall, Polo Ground Srinagar. The championship is being organized by Judo Association of Jammu & Kashmir under the aegis of J&K Sports Council & J&K Olympic Association. The event was declared open by Mohd Iqbal, Manager, Indoor Sports Hall Polo Ground & Shafkat Shafi, Manager Ganderbal Stadium/ Chairman Technical Committee, J&K Judo Association (k). The Championship is being held under the auspices of J&K Sports Council & J&K Olympic Association.
In the championship, more than 100 players both boys & girls from different schools, colleges are participating. Among others present were Abdul Hamid Khan, vice president, J&K Judo Association, Gowhar Khan, joint secretary J&K Judo.
