2-day Wushu C’ship commences

JAMMU, Mar 30: Two day long Jammu District Judo Championship (Men and Women) in Junior and Senior Weight category, organised by Wushu Association, commenced at Indoor Sports Complex MA Stadium under the aegis of J&K Sports Council and J&K Olympic Association, here today.
Divisional Sports Officer, Ashok Singh was the chief guest who presented medals to winners in senior weight category in presence of prominent persons including Satish Gupta Manager Indoor Sport Complex, Vikas Gupta, senior vice president, Suraj Sharma hony general secretary, Danish and Shweta Thakur.
The bouts were officiated by Suraj Bhan Singh, Arshin Nad and Ritika Slathia, whereas Manish Chatwal is the organizing secretary.
In men senior (60 kg) Virbhadra Singh stood 1st, Akshay Sharma remained1st in 66 kg, and Aditya Kumar claimed 2nd place whereas in 73 kg, Shivam Sharma, Vishal Kumar and Aryan Gupta won top three medals respectively and in 81kg, Varun Sharma and Diwakar Singh remained 1st and 2nd, whereas in 90 kg, Danish Sharma bagged 1st prize, besides in 100 kg, Ujjwal Khajuria and Kundan Pada won 1st and 2nd prizes.
In plus 100 kg, Aman Singh stood 1st, while in women senior 48 kg, Vanshika Manhas stood 1st, while in 52 kg Upasana Singh remained 1st and Fozia Kouser stood 2nd and in 57 kg, Sakshi and Sunakshi Devi won 1st and 2nd spots, whereas in 63 kg, Maithili won gold, while in 70 kg, Nirali Sharma won 1st and in 78 kg, Sumehara Khawam and Suhani Kiran clinched 1st and 2nd positions respectively.
