SRINAGAR, Nov 3: Police today said it arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession in Budgam district of central Kashmir.
A police spokesman said that acting on specific information, police raided a Jugi near a brick kiln at Gudsutoo village of Budgam and arrested two drug peddlers identified as Ram Swaroop and Dilair Singh, both Punjab residents. “15 kilograms of poppy straw was recovered from their possession,” he said.
The spokesman said that a case under FIR number 253/2017 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act was registered and investigation taken up.
