2 drug peddlers arrested with heroin, poppy straw

JAMMU, Apr 4: Bus Stand and Gangyal police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested two drug peddler and recovered heroin and poppy straw from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Bus Stand Police Station led by SHO Inspector Rajesh Jasrotia laid a naka and intercepted a person, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 530 grams heroin from the possession of the person and arrested him.
A case under FIR Number 17/19 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Bus Stand Police Station and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Gangyal Police Station during checking at Greater Kailash intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02AQ-0725.
During checking, police recovered 40 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who has been identified as Swaran Singh, son of Pritam Singh of Phinder Tehsil RS Pura.
A case under FIR Number 29/19 under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gangyal and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Gangyal Police Station SI Nayat Ali made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Dr Sunniya Ashkoor Wani, SP South Vinay Sharma and SSP Jammu Tejinder Singh.
